009's Local Tracks

Here are is a listing of the tracks I have raced at over the years:

Green Valley Raceway

Popular in the late 70's and early 80's, it is now a housing development, but at one time was a première racing facility in the Southwest. The strip was popular with IHRA and NHRA events in its heyday.

Texas World Speedway

Formerly a NASCAR track in the late 70's and early 80's, this is now track used primarily for SCCA road racing, motorcycle road races and private club events.  The 2.5 mile oval is supplemented by a variety of configurations of road circuits up to 2.9 miles in length.

Oak Hill Raceway

Located just outside of Henderson Texas this track is most often used for motorcycle races and high speed karting events.  However for a paltry sum of just under $200 you can rent this 1.9 mile course and drive all day.  A real gem with lots of elevation changes.



Texas Motorplex

Perhaps one of the fastest quarter mile tracks in the nation.  This world class facility is second to none in amenities and all out speed.  An excellent place to hang out and trip the lights.  If your in to drag racing this, is the place to go in Texas.



Texas Motorsport Ranch

Conceived as a country club type racing facility, this is an excellent track to cut your teeth on with a variety of car club events and drivers schools.  Located in Cresson Texas, this 3.1 mile cucuit is convenient to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. All events are private.



Texas Motor Speedway

This is a first class race facility complete with a top notch nationally recognized driver's school.  Only minutes north of Dallas and Fort Worth this 2.5 mile track hosts Indy Cars and NASCAR events, and a host of driving event for the area.  While not much other the a flat landscape the banked oval turns are very fast and scary.
